I haven't had time to play catch up on my blog lately. A lot has happened this month and next month will be even more busy with all of the up coming birthdays.
Let's see where do I start.... Breanna was baptized and some of her friends from school surprised her and showed up at church to watch. There is nothing more exciting than having her make that decision. I was so proud!
Haleigh had a near death experience on her bicycle (not really) but there was blood involved and her right knee. She alerted all of Southside with a siren like cry for what seemed like 30 min. or until I said "Get a hold of yourself,"! I showed her my scar on my knee and told of old bike wounds and she decided she wanted to go back outside and play. Haleigh is anxious to learn to read right now and is picking up on it quite well. On the other hand Breanna is smart as she can be but has no desire to read. I think she would rather lick the bottom of a fire place than study or read. The words for this 6 weeks have been organization and motivation!!! (sometimes I need to learn those myself)
We all have Halloween costumes. Haleigh is a black kitty cat, Bree is a nurse, Kenon and I have German Oktoberfest costumes. I will post some pictures soon

Sports
I have to fill you in on the sports that occupy sooooo much of our time.
Breanna is cheering for B team Panthers. I never in a million years would have pictured myself as a cheer mom but here I am doing just that. Practice has decreased from four times a week to two times a week. Games are on EVERY Saturday night!!!! (no one informed me that once your children both get in school and involved in activities it takes away every moment you have as a family on the weekends.) The girls are absolutely wonderful with their cheer routine. Bree is one of three brunette's on the cheer team. She can tumble well and she is so cute! The down fall is my wallet is empty and the grades have declined. I'm going to have to start studying in a cheer form. (really I'm kidding).

Next is soccer. Haleigh is a bright green Explorer. We had a rough start of a season with locating what team she was suppose to be on and then having to change teams due with conflict of gender with the first coach. Then an unexplained anxiety attack for the first game. When I got to the field she was hanging to her dad like a Koala bear to a tree. After a little WD40 and some negotiation she finally came down. She sat and held the grass down with a puckered lip the first half of the game with coach Brian and his wife patiently talking to her. And WoW did she come in the game; she scored 7 goals for the Explorers and was even generous enough to score one for the other team as well!!! Haleigh is over the jitters now and we have to remind her not to take the ball from her own teammates often. Did I mention her games are on Sat. mornings? When I work the night before I am quite sleep deprived!! I love every minute of watching them both and am very proud to be a panther and explorer mom.

First Day of School
.jpg)
Twas the day before school starts and time was crunching near
for it was the first day of school little Haleigh did fear.
Breanna had picked out her new school attire
and a snazzy zebra back pack that her friends would admire.

Pencils, markers, erasers and such
workbooks, headphones, the list is too much.
All was in order, everything was in line
we had signed every paper that had to be signed.
Breanna and Haleigh were tucked into bed
not knowing how bad tomorrow mommy did dread.
It was like Christmas the excitement in their eyes
the first day of school had finally arrived.

It took some effort but Haleigh's hair was finally tame
breakfast was eaten and they learned their teachers name.
Out the door they ran with camera's flashing away
never again would we experience this day.
I gave them a kiss and made sure they had their snack
and before I said goodbye they never looked back.
I walked to the door and was greeted with smiles
the walk back to my car seemed like for miles.
I was happy they made it without any fears
but letting them go I fought back the tears.
another chapter in our book began with this day
another memory for me that is here to stay.
